Jesus didn’t suggest we be the light of the world—He declared it:
“You are the light of the world.” (Matthew 5:14)
If you follow Him, His light already lives in you.
The question is not if you can shine—but whether you will.
Christ, the true Light of the world, dwells in every believer.
Shining isn’t about striving—it’s about allowing His life to be seen through yours.
We often wait for God to do something extraordinary—
while He is calling us to do what is already clear:
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength… and love your neighbor as yourself.” (Mark 12:30–31)
How Do We Love Our Neighbors?
We love our neighbors—whether in our homes, workplaces, schools, or communities—by reflecting the life, teachings, and love of Jesus.
We believe shining your light happens in three simple, powerful ways:
Pray Care Share
PRAY
Lift up others by name. Ask God to move in their lives.
Pray that hearts would be opened and that people would be drawn to Him.
Join with others in prayer—whether individually, in groups, or through prayer walks.

CARE
Demonstrate God’s love in practical, tangible ways.
Show kindness, offer help, meet needs, and build meaningful relationships.
Be present in times of struggle and seek opportunities to bring healing and restoration.

SHARE
Share the good news of Jesus with gentleness and respect.
Tell your story. Speak of the hope and light within you.
Invite others to repent, believe, and receive new life as children of God and citizens of His Kingdom.

What is the name of your next-door neighbor?
You have greatest responsibility with those to whom God has put near you.
Break out of the car-to-garage-to-house mold to meet and develop relationships with their neighbors. They watch for opportunities to practically demonstrate Christ’s love to the family next door.
Open your homes for meals, for fellowship, and for Bible studies.
Cast Light on your Community
Everyone needs light. Beside your home and neighborhood, Light-Houses can shine the light of Jesus in other places:
Churches – the body of believers modeling the pray-care-share principles of God’s Word to others in the congregation and the church in general.
Schools – students praying for and caring for the students in their homeroom classes or those whose lockers are next to them.
Businesses – workers praying for and caring for coworkers in the offices or cubicles next to them or who work on the same factory line. They’re also praying for the customers and vendors they come in contact with.
Prisons – inmates who have become Christians establishing their cells as Light-Houses to pray for and care for their fellow inmates.
Retirement / Nursing Homes – senior citizens praying for those in the beds or rooms next to theirs.
