prayer-icon A key to cultivating a culture of prayer is to promote multiple and varied models and opportunities for prayer.  Why “multiple and varied?”

…Multiple and varied because not everyone can relate to the same models.

…Multiple and varied because not everyone’s schedule can accommodate the same opportunities.

…Multiple and varied because the range of prayer needs is so broad and diverse, requiring a number of different approaches. (J. Randolph Turpin)

In this area of the website, we offer only a few examples:

The Lord’s Prayer is a popular pattern of prayer that the Lord Jesus taught his first disciples.  It can be found in Matthew 6:9-13.

ACTS and AMP are acrostics for different models of what is typically practiced during corporate prayer time.

Lectio Divina is a method of praying by reading and meditating on Scripture.  Although it can be practiced in a corporate setting, it is usually identified with personal prayer time.
