Community Care Ministry Summary
On virtually a daily basis, assists the Bowie Food Pantry in stocking shelves, distributing food to clients, tending the garden, and providing administrative assistance. Monthly does food shopping and collects and delivers food donations from the church.
Weekly provides leadership and administrative assistance to Turn ON the Light – Bowie. Ensures that the RPCB church and the Bowie Food Pantry are using the We Care Bowie brochure as a guide for referring needy people to the help they need.
Periodically (annually or semi-annually) helps All Saints Lutheran Church (ASLC) and Trinity Lutheran Church (TLC) during the week(s) they host homeless clients as part of the Warm Nights Program (see We Care Bowie brochure.) We provide 20-35 bag lunches to ASLC twice a year and assist TLC with dinner service and by providing overnight volunteers once a year.
Monthly leads a hymn sing at Heartfields Assisted Living.
Annually collects clothing, accessories, stuffed animals, hygiene items, etc. and delivers to Operation Christmas Child/Samaritan’s Purse as part of our shoe box ministry.
